Saturday's Cards

This is a SIMPLE card made with a small scrap of paper from the Unforgettable paper packet. The colors used are Desert Sand, Sorbet and Juniper. When Sorbet was first introduced as a new color, I really didn't care much for it. I have learned to LOVE the color and the way it blends with many other colors.

This is the card I made for Janelle & Tyler Geels, as they are expecting Baby #2 in August! Colors used are Sorbet, Sweet Leaf, and Heavenly Blue. The background was made with a stamp from the Intrinsic Backgrounds stamp set.

January Workshop Projects

January is the release month for the Spring 2010 Idea Book. I love the Spring Catalog, it's full of flowers, spring colors, new techniques and much more. One of the newest products is a the My Creations Journal, which is a 5" x 7" book with a clear pocket on the front cover. You can then insert your own artwork into the cover to personalize it. This is my journal. I used the Veranda paper packet and the stamp set entitled One of a Kind. This is an awesome floral set containing 18 stamps. I stamped it all in Cocoa.

With the release of each Idea Book comes a "Creative Basics" set of paper containing 12 - 12" x 12" B & T Duos (6 each of designs), and 4 yards of ribbon. The collection in the Spring Catalog is entitled Creative Basics Veranda Collection. These two papers are different from the Veranda Level 2 Paper Packet, but they use the same color family. These two cards are using this collection. The colors are Crème Brulee, Juniper, Garden Green and Vanilla Cream. Sounds good enough to eat!!

This card uses the Topstitch paper packet. You gotta love Baby Pink, Chocolate, and Heavenly Blue! You will see that the "S" in special is polka-dotted. This is made using another new product called "Irresistibles Lots of Dots". These are adhesive packed letters with polka-dot resist material that can be colored with ink, chalk, markers, etc. I used a sponge dauber and applied ink to the letter before removing it from it's backing.

The stamp set, So Sweet was used in this card. I love the verse "We are never alone when friends fill our lives". The set is simple in that the lined flowers are colored in quickly with a solid matching stamp.

Another new thing in the Spring catalog is that they "A" size stamp sets are selling at a reduced price of $7.95. There are four new sets, one of them called A Posey. It is a simple flower with petals, stem, flower center, and a "Best Wishes" stamp. Only five stamps but you can really do a lot with them. I have used coordinating paper from the Caboodle paper packet. The colors in this packet are Buttercup, Crystal Blue, Sorbet and Sweet Leaf. They compliment each other beautifully.
